Who would be tutoring me?

Willing and able peers throughout high school

All tutors feel confident in the subject at hand and are happy to help you out in any way necessary

Tutors are matched with prospective students by club leaders, Dalia and Nicola, based on their extent of knowledge

When and where would I meet with a tutor?

All specifics are decided between you and your tutor, so that meeting times and places fit both respective schedules

Common areas of meeting: the St. M. library, the Carrico Center cafeteria, etc.

Common times of meeting: before or after school, break or lunch

How many times can I meet with my tutor?

In short, as many times as necessary

As mentioned, all details are agreed upon by both the tutor and the student

Tutoring sessions can range from one time total to multiple times a week

Our tutors try their best to be flexible and accommodating to your needs

How does my tutor get compensated?

As mentioned above, all specifics are dealt with between the tutor and yourself

Tutors may request either monetary or community service compensation
-
If compensation cannot be agreed upon, you are able to request a different tutor

Is my personal information confidential?

Club leaders will not know who you are unless you or the tutor decide to disclose the information
-
Tutors will not know who you are when they agree to tutor you, but instead will know for example, “A sophomore student needs moderate help in general biology”

When accepted, tutors and tutees will be given each other's respective emails/numbers for communication
-
St. M. Globe is allowed to use statistic-based data from the process, but will not disclose names or identities
-
If you feel uncomfortable at all throughout the process, just let us know--your success and satisfaction are our utmost priority
